In the photo above you see Fox News’s Twitter account with messages that were posted by a hacker. Fox News Twitter, the latest victim in hacking and hoaxes, or atleast it is believed to be an outsider hacking its Twitter instead of a staff member, is now being investigated by the United States Secret Service to find out who wrote the messages on Fox’s Twitter account. According to Computer World, the hacker changed the password to Fox’s Twitter account and Fox had no way to log into the Twitter account to delete the Twitter posts. It took 5 and a half hours for Twitter to respond to Fox. Jeff Misenti, vice president of and general manager of Fox News Digital, has asked Twitter to investigate on this matter and is now looking into how to prevent an event like this from happening again in the future. Many businesses now use social media as a way to connect with their viewers or customers, so businesses and organizations should be very careful when it comes to security of their social media accounts.
